About the Sober Jam
The MusiCares® Sober Jam is a monthly event presented by Face the Music, offering musicians an opportunity to perform in a safe and sober environment.
This event would not be possible without the ongoing support of sponsors, MusiCares, Face the Music, and Gibson Guitar.
The Sober Jam is held at The North Door and begins at 6pm with an open jam, allowing guests time to arrive, mingle and find their way to a seat. Musicians
are also encouraged to join in the jam on-stage!
The evening begins with a guest band playing from 6:30-7pm. At 7pm, the space transitions to a listening room with “open-mic” style performances (solo or with a band), facilitated by emcee Brandon Demarris of DeMaris Entertainment. Then, at around 8pm we will have a special guest – a professional musician from the area will play some music and talk about how recovery has impacted their life and career. The evening willl end with the Sober Jam house band playing familiar cover songs from the 60s-present. Everyone in the audience is encouraged to join the band on stage and play a song!
