The Sober Jam has been canceled for this month due to restrictions caused by the Covid-19 outbreak. Hopefully we will see you next month. Stay safe out there!
About the Sober Jam
The MusiCares® Sober Jam is a monthly event offering musicians an opportunity to perform and audience members to enjoy live music in a safe and sober environment.
This event would not be possible without the ongoing support of our sponsors, MusiCares, Face the Music, the SIMS Foundation and Gibson Guitar.
The Sober Jam is held at The North Door and begins at 6:30pm with a guest band from the sober community, allowing guests time to arrive, mingle and find their way to a seat. At 7pm, the space transitions to a listening room with “open-mic” style performances (solo or with a band). At 8:20pm we will feature an unannounced special guest performer, and from 845-930pm we will have an open Jam hosted by the house band.
If you want to play or sing with the House band, contact Chris Gates.
Want to Be a Part of the Event? The Sober Jam needs volunteers!
The Alumni Association is volunteering to help run the Sober Jam. Each month they need:
- 2 volunteers – Greeting and Check-in
- 2 volunteers – Main Entrance – no ins/outs during performances
- 2 volunteers – rear entrance – no exit
- 2 volunteers – one inside, one outside, monitoring guests
